I have been asked to participate in the Braveheart Youth Trust art exhibition. This will take place at the ASB Showgrounds from the 28-30 May in Auckland. www.braveheart.org.nz
Below are details from their website about the exhibition:
“A stunning display of up to 600 artworks – paintings, photographs, prints, sculptures and objets d’art – will be available for viewing and for sale. The 200+ artists represented, both emerging and well-known, come from all around New Zealand. The emphasis will be on quality and affordability, a rare combination achievable only through the experience of our curator, Liz Caughey. The exhibition is strictly ‘by invitation only’ and the artists have been painstakingly selected. A colour catalogue will be available. To secure your ticket to the Gala Preview, contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org
Liz Caughey will be curating the Braveheart exhibition, and is excited to bring her experience in art to such a major event. She began collecting contemporary New Zealand art over 20 years ago, and has worked as an art advisor for the past ten. Over the past 12 years, she has authored the five volumes in the ‘Contemporary New Zealand Art’ series (four with John Gow, Auckland gallery director) for publisher David Bateman Ltd, compiled ‘NZ Art Today: 60 exhibiting New Zealand artists’, contributed to The Encyclopaedia of New Zealand and edited ‘Virginia King: Sculptor’ (both David Bateman publications). She also maintains an independent website to promote New Zealand art www.nz-artists.co.nz and has curated three highly successful fundraising art exhibitions since 2003.
All funds from the Art Exhibition will go towards The Right Track education programme, the first project that Braveheart will be supporting.”
I am really excited to be asked to participate in this event, it is a real privilege and the funds raised are going towards a really good cause. They are looking for volunteers to help out before and during the event http://braveheart.org.nz/volunteer.html
I will be submitting 4 pieces for this show – 2 paintings and 2 sculptures.
